We are ready to launch (or re-launch) LIFE groups again this Fall! IF you are in a group, your leader will be contacting you. IF NOT… sign ups for new groups. We want EVERYONE to know the blessings of knowing Jesus in a small group. The Christian life was NOT meant to be walked in isolation. Ask God to lead you to a group that is a fit for you!
Discovery Cove News
- Attention, the current nursery schedules for 1st and 2nd services are now posted at westhoustonchurch.org. To volunteer, contact Pam Landrum ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
- Volunteer sign-ups are going on at the Discovery Cove display near the coffee bar. Our goal is to fill all volunteer positions for the 2010-2011 year. There will be a raffle for those who sign up with prizes from Joelle Yates with Mary Kay, Jennifer Henry with Premier Jewelry and a custom Bible cover from Lea Ellen Warden. Add your name to the drawing every time you sign up. YOU are the village for these children!
- September 12: King's Kids will be added to first service for kids ages 3 years through kindergarten. It is a fun time filled with singing and age appropriate bible stories for the kids. King's Kids is located in the pre-school wing across from the coffee bar and begins after communion and lasts until the end of worship service. Parents who are members can sign up to help at the table by the coffee bar.
- September 12: Kick off the new school year for Discovery Cove. Students, wear your favorite team jersey or t-shirt and "move up in class".
- October 30: Save the date for the Fall Festival from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Come climb a rock wall, ride a mechanical bull, go undercover for laser tag, and much, much more!
- November 24 – no bible classes
- December 12 – Sunday Funday – 12:30 – 5:00
- December 17 & 18 – Celebrate Jesus! (all church event)
- December 26 – no bible classes – no King's Kids
2nd Grade coordinator: this volunteer would handle coordination of teachers for 2nd grade. Use classroom budget to Keep curriculum and room décor updated. Attend any coordinator meetings with Children's Minister.
