Divine Provision

Bad things happen to good people, even to those who love and serve God faithfully. The story of Elisha and the widow in 2 Kings 4 reminds us that hardship is not a sign of God's absence. The fear of the Lord is not simply an emotion but a way of life marked by reverence, obedience, and freedom from the fear of man. When the widow brought her emptiness to God, He met her with compassion and miraculous provision. The number of jars she gathered reflected the measure of her faith, and the oil kept flowing until every vessel was full. God does not ask us to have everything figured out. He simply asks us to bring what we have and trust Him with it. His provision is never just barely enough. It is always more than enough.
