When believers live in harmony, the world sees the love of Christ on display, and the credibility of the gospel is strengthened. The enemy works hard to divide the church through unresolved conflict and disagreements over secondary issues, knowing that division slows the mission. The strategy for maintaining unity is love, the same love Christ demonstrated toward us. Staying anchored to the shared mission of making disciples keeps secondary disagreements from gaining the power to divide. Unity is not passive. It requires effort, humility, and a daily choice to love one another well.
