Hope Rises In the Cave

Jul 5, 2026    Javier Tapia

Psalm 34 was written by David while he was a fugitive, hiding in a cave after fleeing both King Saul and enemy territory. From that place of fear and humiliation, he chose to praise God, and that choice became a doorway for hope. The psalm is filled with twelve promises from God and ten invitations to a deeper relationship with Him. When we fix our eyes on God rather than our circumstances, something changes in us. Our circumstances do not disappear, but they fall into the right perspective. The cave was real for David, but it was not final. The God who met David in his cave is the same God who meets us in ours today.
