The Plank, The Speck, & The Truth

One of the most misunderstood teachings of Jesus is His command not to judge. He was not calling His followers to abandon discernment or pretend that truth does not exist. He was condemning hypocritical, self-righteous, and condemning judgment. Jesus actually commanded righteous judgment in John 7:24, making the real question not whether we judge, but how. Before correcting others, honest self-examination must come first. The goal is never condemnation but restoration. Christians are called to be grace-filled truth tellers who have first stood honestly before God.
